Matthew Wooding

Matthew Wooding is a communications assistant for the Australian National University node of TMOS. Matthew is a physics graduate of the ANU (2024) where he conducted research as an undergraduate into quantum measurement systems. He also worked as a technical officer for the ANU Department of Material Physics (2023) looking into the fluid mechanics of porous rocks, and the dynamics of breakage of fibre bundles. Following his time at the ANU, Matthew develop a strong interest in science communication interning with Dr Phil Dooley to write and edit articles for the ANU eventually leading to joining the communications team at TMOS.
Matthew is excited to learn about and help share the work that the researchers at TMOS are pioneering. Drawing on skills from his background spanning theatre, eco-tourism, science writing and hospitality work in addition to academics, Matthew hopes to help grow the awareness of, and excitement for, the Centre’s research.
