Aurelien Botman

Aurélien received an M.Sci. and B.A. in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge (UK) in 2005. He obtained his PhD on the topic of electron beam induced deposition in 2009 from the Technische Universiteit Delft (The Netherlands), while performing research at Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven and subsequently at FEI in Acht. Aurélien joined FEI, now Thermo Fisher Scientific, in Hillsboro OR, USA as a postdoc scientist in Advanced Technology (R&D, electron & ion microscopy) that year. He currently leads a research group at Thermo Fisher within Advanced Technology.

I lead a team of talented scientists and engineers in electron and ion microscopy. We develop advanced instrumentation, application workflows, and microanalysis techniques. We innovate in sample modification and characterization, and create new solutions to customer challenges that help change the world.
