Dr Angus Gale is a postdoctoral researcher whose work focuses on the generation of high-performance solid-state quantum light sources. This research centers on robust emitter creation and manipulation to engineer and control localised defects in materials like hexagonal boron nitride. Alongside this, the work extends to integrating these emitters into optical cavities, enhancing light-matter interaction to better control quantum light emission. Together, these efforts provide a pathway toward building scalable hardware components required for future quantum technologies, including computing, sensing, and secure communication.
