Sergei Nedic is a current PhD student at UTS, continuing from his Honours studies, he is specialising in nanofabrication and nanophotonics. He has been recognised with prestigious awards, including the RFG Macmillan Prize and the Australian Institute of Physics Prize, which highlight his contributions to the field. In addition to his research, Sergei is actively involved in academia, tutoring undergraduate classes to share his knowledge and passion for physics with the next generation of scientists. He has also played a key role in designing and building an educational device with TMOS for Questacon, the National Science and Technology Centre. His commitment to STEM outreach extends to his involvement with TMOS at the Sydney Science Trail Exhibition, where he engaged with prospective students to inspire enthusiasm for STEM.
Current Projects
- Generation of hexagonal boron nitride quantum emitters in nanofrabricated structures for the generation of vortex beams with orbital angular momentum
- Integration of tantalum pentoxide waveguides with quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride
