Dr Shvedov is an active researcher with more than over 20-years of experience in optics and laser physics, including 12 years of extensive research activities at the ANU. During his carrier in the field of laser physics, he has worked with many laser systems and optical materials; found numerous nontrivial research solutions of problems putting together a complex research puzzle. The result of his work is more than 150 scientific publications. Some of them were selected as most exciting worldwide scientific achievements in photonics (December issues of Optics and Photonics News in 2010, 2012, 2016 and 2017), while others (PRL 2011, Nature Photonics 2014, Nature Communications 2020) had tremendous impact in the worldwide mass media. In 2021, Dr Shvedov’s project was a winner of a prestige international competition "The 2021 Future of Energy Challenge: Net-Zero Emissions".
