Biography:

A Professor at RMIT University, Sumeet’s research interests are underpinned by fundamental advances in materials science, integrated electronic/optoelectronic devices and sensors for applications in healthcare, neuromorphics, smart energy solutions and advanced manufacturing.

Sumeet actively pursues research translation and has developed partnerships with Australian and international industry to take fundamental scientific advances to the end user. He is an inventor on nine patents and passionate about Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in STEM.

Sumeet has received several awards for his research excellence, impact and communication including the MIT Technology Review’s Top 10 Young Innovators in the Asia-Pacific, the Victorian Young Achiever of the Year (2017), Australia’s most Innovative Engineers (Engineers Australia), and the Victorian Young Tall Poppy Award for Excellence in Science and Communication (Australian Institute of Policy and Science) to name a few.
