Biography:

Yin is an established researcher in the field of scalable synthesis, characterization and functionalities development with proven ability to lead original investigations in new materials science and applications, including the emerging materials of transition metal dichalcogenides, metal oxides and nitrides. To date he has accumulated a comprehensive body of knowledge on various aspects of delicate synthesis of nano-to-atomic scale materials and structures with applications in optoelectronics, electronics and energy conversion and storage. Currently, he leads the Materials Science and Applications group at ANU which consists of some PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. It is often jointed by visiting academics and students from around the world, and it is establishing collaboration with some universities in the world, including MIT, Harvard University, National University of Singapore, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Nankai University. Yin has been honored as one of The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds by Highly Cited Researchers every year since 2015.
